Founder’s Story

Jorge’s professional life began with his graduate studies in engineering at the National University of Trujillo in Perú.  After graduating with a degree in industrial engineering, Jorge supervised sales and distribution for Pepsi, Co. in the Trujillo area.  After two years with Pepsi, Jorge began to advise on and sell retirement plans for Profuturo. Jorge then moved on to manage product distribution for Texaco in Northern Perú. 

After several years working for large companies in Trujillo, Jorge changed direction, became an entrepreneur, and started a successful Clothing Exporting Business with operations in Perú and Chile.  Jorge worked in procurement and logistics and traveled often throughout Latin America for business.  This adventure eventually brought Jorge to Seattle. 

Throughout his ten year professional career in Latin America, Jorge spent his weekends tutoring Spanish for foreigners living and working in Perú.  Jorge’s love for teaching and spreading awareness for the Latin Culture grew during this time period, as did the joy he felt helping people learn to communicate in his Native Spanish language. 

While in Seattle, Jorge decided to turn his old hobby into his life’s passion, and he began tutoring full time.  You can now find Jorge around Seattle, happily speaking with anyone and everyone and joyfully watching his students learn about his native Latin culture and communicate in Spanish with confidence.
